The Air Products Foundation recently donated $120,000 to the Ascension Parks Foundation to help make a difference in the community of Sorrento, Louisiana. The funds allocated to the organization have been earmarked for improvements to the park in Sorrento and construction is slated to begin in 2025. Enhancements will include walking paths and a pavilion for citizens to enjoy year-round with family and ‘friends. Air Products is constructing its Louisiana Clean Energy Complex in the area, and this is one way to give back and build a path to the future together.
“Parks are a critical part of happy, healthy communities, and the vision of the Ascension Parks Foundation aligns with Air Products’ commitment to the communities where our employees live and work,” said Stanley Bienemy, Governmental Affairs Manager for Air Products. “We are excited to see more work planned for the park in Sorrento, a town which will be home to our new facility and 170 new full-time Air Products’ jobs.”
“We extend our sincere gratitude to Air Products for their generous funding to the Ascension Parks Foundation, which enables us to enhance Sorrento Park,” said Tia Starr, President of Ascension Parks Foundation. “These upgrades will undoubtedly create a space where the community can gather, and foster healthier and more active lifestyles. By investing in health and wellness, we are investing in a brighter future, and we look forward to seeing this park serve as a cornerstone of vitality and connection for generations to come.”
